Wayland casino to break ground Sept. 17 →
According to The Press, the Gun Lake Casino in Allegan County is expected to employ about 600 people featuring 1,200 slot machines and 36 table games. The tribe for years had promised to create 1,800 jobs at a casino with 2,500 slot machines and 76 table games, The Press reports.
The controversial Allegan County casino in Wayland by the Gun Lake Tribe of Pottawatomi Indians will break ground on Sept. 17. It will be scaled back from its original design.
Emily Richett from Fox 17, WXMI in Grand Rapids, revealed a pretty “cool” ice sculpture that will also compete in ArtPrize in GR. Artist Derek Maxfield will have his sculpture on display at the Ford Museum.
Balloon artist Larry Moss, who will appear Sept. 23 at ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, made an appearance today on the ”Today Show.” He is part of a big story by correspondent Jenna Wolfe.
