Tigers manager Jim Leyland gets emotional after the Detroit Tigers clinch a playoff spot and the MLB Central Division
Being interviewed by Fox Sports Detriot broadcaster Mario Impemba, Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland talked about his team’s accomplishments, including an impressive 12 victories over division rivals the Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Indians.
He also praised all members of the 25-man roster, saying that each team needs its superstars, but in order to be successful and win championships, contributions needs to come from all members of the team.
But he got very emotional talking about the city of Detroit, and for all of Michigan for that matter. He said he hopes the Tigers’ success can be uplifting for a city going through economic hardships.
